La Galiniere Guest Cottages

Situated on a boutique vineyard, with stunning mountain views, yet close to the centre of the town, the 3-star, AA ‘Highly Recommend’ La Galiniere Guest Cottages provide the perfect base to explore Franschhoek and the Winelands.

The three self-catering cottages (each sleeping between 2 and 4 guests) are well-equipped with modern furnishings, quality linen and towels, brand-name kitchen appliances, TV with DSTV, cooling and heating fans, complimentary toiletries, hairdryers, complimentary tea/coffee/sugar/milk, and a bottle of our own Cabernet Sauvignon to give you that extra special welcome.

Shiraz Cottage – comprises one bedroom with king size or twin beds, shower room and well-equipped kitchen (with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster).

Cabernet Cottage – comprises one bedroom (double bed), living room (with dining table and chairs, sofa, sofa-bed, coffee table and sideboard), bathroom (shower over bath) and a well-equipped kitchen (with gas hob and electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle). The cottage has a fireplace in the living room.

Merlot Cottage – comprises two bedrooms (each with either king size or twin beds), living room (with dining table and chairs, two sofas, coffee table and sideboard), bathroom (shower over bath) and a well-equipped kitchen (with gas hob and electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, and kettle). The cottage also has a fireplace in the living room.

Families are particularly welcome at La Galiniere and we are happy to supply travel cots, high chairs, and baby/child car seats, as well as DVD players to keep the young ones occupied. We also have an outdoor swimming pool and sun loungers that guests are welcome to enjoy. Babysitting can be arranged with advance notice.

Although we are self-catering, breakfast baskets can be arranged for your first morning (for an additional charge). Braais are also available upon request. The farm provides off-street parking.
With some of South Africa’s best restaurants and more than forty wineries, it’s not surprising that Franschhoek is well-known to many as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa.

The town also boasts museums, boutique stores, and an ambience unmatched elsewhere in the country. The surrounding mountains also provide opportunities for trekking, mountain biking, bird-watching and some more adventurous pursuits. Not far from the town are the Franschhoek Motor Museum, Butterfly World, Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm, Drakenstein Lion Park, Solms Delta Museum and Pearl Valley Golf Estate.

La Galiniere’s owners have their own tourism business in town. Wine tours, wine coaching, excursions, car hire, adventurous activities, chauffeur drives and transfers can all easily be arranged.

La Galiniere Guest Cottages are located approximately 1.5km from the centre of Franschhoek on the Main R45. If approaching from Paarl or Stellenbosch, after passing Grande Provence Estate, Franschhoek Country House and Allora Italian Restaurant, we are the next property on the right hand side of the road (almost opposite Petite Provence Estate).

Please note that, as a working farm, we have three German Shepherd dogs that roam freely. All our cottages are non-smoking.

Rates
Children aged 0-5 are free of charge. Children aged 6-12 are half the adult rate.
