“40 Winks” Self-Catering Accommodation

“40 Winks” is situated in the beautiful town of Somerset West, away from all the hustle and bustle of city life, and is an ideal base from which to explore the Western Cape and enjoy the many attractions that will make your stay an interesting and enjoyable one.

Surrounded by the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountain Range, at the entrance to the Winelands and 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, the Strand and Gordon’s Bay, Somerset West offers a large variety of things to see and do:-

Historical and other popular Wine Estates as well as scenic drives, golf courses (Golfers’ Paradise), Helderberg Nature Reserve, Hiking & Horse trails, Arts & Crafts, Monkey Town, excellent restaurants, Somerset Mall (One of the largest Shopping centres in the Western Cape), whale watching, fishing and boat trips from Gordon’s Bay and much more.

Generally the best summer weather in Cape Town is between November and April. By far the warmest month is February

Winter in Cape Town is normally from mid-May to mid- September. These days are best spent touring wine estates, shopping, visiting museums and watching rugby or soccer.

Bedsitter en- suite: Bird’s Nest

Attached to the main house with it’s own entrance ideal for single or double accommodation. King Size or 2 single beds, sleeper sofa single chair, Satellite TV, Walk in Well equipped kitchenette/workstation with 2 plate stove & oven, fridge and microwave. Shower, handbasin and toilet.

Dolphin and Guinea Fowl Cottages:

With ceiling fan, Gas heaters, wall safes, king or 2 single beds, 2 single pull out beds and good mattresses and 2 single pull out beds with good matresses in the lounge area. Two single chairs arm chairs, dining table and chairs, Remote control Satellite TV, fridge/freezer, microwave, two plate stove with oven, bedlinen, towels, crockery and cutlery.

The Lion’s Den:

Inside main house with it’s own entrance. Small room with ceiling fan, double bed, chest of drawers and haging space, shower, handbsin and toilet.Facilities in the adjoining sunroom may be used are microwave, 2 plate stove with oven, fridge and kitchen utensils and Satelite TV. Should you not want to cook you may order from our kitchen on request. The price quoted is for room only. There are also 2 friendly family dogs that will like to may friends with you. They are not allowed in the bedroom are are allowed in the Sunroom.

Other features:

The accommodation has secure off street undercovered parking behind an electronic gate with a separate entrance from main residence.
To start your day you may decide to make your own breakfast or order a pre- packed continental breakfast.
Home cooked evening meals by prior arrangement or you may have a barbeque around the pool.
Use of the salt water swimming pool and outdoor braa (bbq)
E- Mail, fax facilities and Wireless ADSL Internet are also available for guests convenience at reasonable rates.
Laundry can be done at R40.00 per load excluding ironing.
Close to Lord Charles Hotel and Conference Centre
There is a slight view of the mountains from the front of the cottages and garden area.
