Blue Bay Lodge

“Relaxation” is our tagline.

Home

Once the homestead of the Wicht family, the elegantly gabled Blue Bay Lodge has been restored and now offers comfortable, three star ‘en suite’ rooms, broad terraces where drinks are served to guests as they relax watching whales and porpoises glide by. The rooms offer panoramic views of the ocean which is no more than fifty paces away.

For more independent voyagers there are also number of self-catering beach side cottages, each with their own braai area.  Ideal for the quest who would just like to kick back and relax, each cottage is comfortably furnished and fully equipped and they are also pet friendly. So you can bring your pups on holiday with you if you’re booked into the self catering units.

Relax

Situated in the relaxing privacy of the resort, Blue Bay Lodge gives guests the opportunity to relax and unwind.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the hotel offers guests a relaxing visit in comfortable accommodation, as well as a wide range of services and activities.

Location

Ninety minutes northwards of Cape Town, the West Coast Road (R27) brings you to the largest, deepest protected body of water off the African coast, Saldanha Bay. A section of the bay is the 15-km long birdwatchers’ paradise, Langebaan Lagoon, while the biggest of the inlets is Hoedjiesbaai where the stylish, elegant Lodge at Blouwaterbaai is to be found.

Wedding & Conference Venue

Blue Bay Lodge has rapidly gained a reputation as the most popular wedding and conference facility on the West Coast. Wedding parties of up to 150 people can be seated and we offer overnight accommodation for around 120 guests.

The three conference rooms can accommodate as many as 120 delegates and the main conference room is fully equipped with audio/visual equipment. The resort conference room and hall have an exclusive pool and braai area. The rooms have private parking and entrances, which make them ideal for any formal or informal function.

Dining

An à la carte breakfast is included in the daily rate, but guests can linger to enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking twinkling harbour lights on the patio or in the Lodge’s charming à la carte restaurant, the well known ‘Blue Bay Café. It overlooks a white, sandy beach less than 30 meters away. The restaurant’s hearty West Coast cuisine includes fresh seafood, home baked breads and local wines from a well-stocked cellar.

Activities

For the more active, the lodge offers a tennis court, two play parks, three swimming pools (in addition to the kilometres of beachfront) and nature walks among panoply of spring flowers and fynbos.

There are a multitude of other activities off the resort such as horse riding, golf, sailing trips, deep-sea fishing as well as the casino at Mykonos to keep you entertained.

The Lodge has friendly, professional staff that will help to ensure your trip is an experience to be treasured!
