We loved the place. In fact, I am writing this when I am still there. Otherwise I would write that I would want to come back. The hosts are perfect, giving good tips and advise. The dinner and breakfast are superb and they even shared me their bread secret. We will come back in the future. — Pieter Vercammen, Belgium
We stayed for two nights in a generously sized room, tastefully decorated and air-conditioned. The linen was superb (down duvet if I’m not mistaken) and the bed was very comfortable. But the best part by far was the superior service and the wonderful food. A really highly recommended place to unwind where you are treated like guests, not clients. — André Luus, Cape Town South Africa
We had such a splendid stay with Kobus and Gerhard during the celebrations of my best friend’s wedding(Alison Davies). The rooms are beautifully decorated with attention to detail and a elegant touch. We had a delightful brekafast the following morning and it is such a pity that we could only spend 1 night in this delightful and enchanted venue. Kobus and Gerhard most certainly have a very special and unique touch to everything they do. Thank you for a short but memorable stay. — Michelle Bothma, Port Elizabeth
Perfectly situated to explore the whole Addo area and when you get back, enjoy your evening with a G&T at the bar…. Before Gerhard is preparing your dinner. AND just if you start thinking what a beautiful day it was, the stunning food will put the cherry on top;-))) Thank you very much for great times, so far….. — Axel, Robertson
We had a wonderful time at Hopefield Country House and Guest Farm. Kobus and Gerhard are most attentive hosts with great senses of humour. The food is delicious and we cannot see why anyone would choose to go elsewhere for dinner when you can have Gerhard as your chef, the choice of great wines and soothing classical music playing in the background. On our first night we even had the delight of our two hosts playing Brahms duets on two grand pianos. The rooms were very comfortable and airy with good bathrooms. The gardens were most attractive too and it was such a shame that the weather was not that good for lying around by the pool. We would thoroughly recommend this guest house as the place to stay at a very reasonable price when visiting Addo and or Port Elizabeth. — Sheila Glyn-Owen and Richard Spicer, United Kingdom
