LOUBSER’S B&B/SELF CATERING/BACKPACKERS:

Loubser’s B&B/Self Catering and Backpackers offer the tourist affordable accommodation in Walvis Bay, Namibia. We have 3 x Double Rooms, 1 x Self Catering unit and 2 x 4 Bed Dorm rooms available.

Situated in the quiet lagoon area we are 350 m from the lagoon, close to the yacht club, angling club, cricket oval and tennis courts. The shopping centers are within 1,7 km from the residence as well as restaurants and clubs.

A full service will be available from us, accommodation, transfers to and from the airport, camping and accommodated tours to various destinations in Namibia and neighbouring countries. Day Tours along the central coastal area .

We also cater for the vegetarian tourist at the B&B/Backpackers and on the camping tours of Namibia.

Arrangement of various activities with operators can be done. Sandboarding, quadbiking, wind and kite surfing, paragliding, hiking trails, angling tours, etc are but a few of the activities that can be arranged .

Self Catering Unit:

The Self Catering unit offers a very spacious open plan design , with own kitchen and bathroom. Full DSTV is available to the unit All the necessary utensiles are provided in the kitchen , fitted undercounter oven and hob, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and aal needed pots and pans. Bedding are provided and extra blankets are in the closet. The unit is presently fitted with a double and 2 x single beds and a sleeper coach. Arrangements for another single bed can be made.

The 3 x double rooms can be incorporated for larger groups. Stock arrangement can be done if list is sent through with a deposit. Breakfast and other meals can be provided on arrangement.

Double Rooms:

Room 1: Double bed , en-suite bathroom
Room 2: 2 x Single Beds with separate full bathroom for private use .
Room 3: Double bed , en-suite bathroom
Rooms are fitted with kettle for tea/coffee, fridge and TV with local content .
All bedding and towels provided.
Laundry service can be arranged
Rooms are fitted with TV (local content)
DSTV available in lounge /braai area

Dorm Rooms :

2 x 4 Bed Dorm Rooms are available as Backpacker accommodation. The rooms can be used as mixed dorm rooms or as small Self Catering Units.
Each room is fitted with 2 x double bunk beds. The rooms have each their own bathroom en-suite.
A small kitchenette is fitted in each room with a fridge, hotplate, utensils, kettle, fan.
All bedding and towels provided
he Braai/Tv area has a pool table,dartboard for use by all.
Laundry service can be arranged
DSTV can be viewed in the lounge / braai area.

How to find us:
The road direction to my place are as follow.
Entering Walvis Bay from either the B2 or C 14 you come to a traffic circle. Take the exit leading towards Union Street.You’ll come to 4 way stop. Cross over and carry on along Union Street until you come to the turn off into 5th Road. You just go along 5th Road,pass the traffic lights, carry on straight down and you’ll see the signboard on the corner of 5th Road and 3rd Str West. A very vissible sign is that of African Electric on the opposite corner. Turn left into 3 rd Str West and the accommodation is the 4th property on your righthand.

WALVIS BAY:

The harbour and fishing hub of Namibia, Walvis Bay has a lot to offer to the tourist, a variety of activities ranging from some of the most spectacular bird watching ,dolphin cruises, tours into the Namib Desert with its spectacular scenery and angling from the beach or boat, yachting, board and kite sailing, qaudbiking, kayaking, duneboarding etc.

Walvis Bay Wetlands being a protected Ramsar site and one of 3 most important coastal wetlands in Africa. The wetlands are the most important one in Southern Africa and attracts a wide variety of birds. Yearly counts estimate the bird population ranging from 70 000 plus in the winter and 200 000 plus in the summer months when northern hemisphere migrant wading birds are also found. The man made platform to the north of Walvis Bay for collecting of guano is also a nesting and breeding place for some birds and attracts a huge population of cormorants, some gulls, and pelicans.

The coastline between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund is also the breeding ground of the Damara Tern, hence restricted access to areas with information boards on the highway.

The famous Long Beach is a renowned picnic and recreation area to the many holiday makers and also the gathering place for new year celebrations. The resorts at both Long Beach and Dolphin Beach are the venue of many attractions over the Festive season.

Walvis Bay offers a wide variety of shops that include some major brand name stores and also have a wide selection of restaurants and clubs, recreational facilities like the Golf Club, Yacht Club, Atlantis Sports Club etc.

There is a museum at the Municipal Complex as well as a well stocked library, a historical building being the “Rheinische Mission Church”, some other historical sites include the “Hope Locomotive”, Railway tracks, Horses Graveyard,Topnaar Kitchen Middens etc.

Sandwich Harbour to the south of Walvis Bay offers a bird lovers paradise and some spectacular scenery, dunes rising out of the sea ,angling is also very popular. Note must be taken that the area is only accessible by 4×4 and permits are required.

The desert to the east runs into the Namib Naukluft Park and breathtaking scenery and wildlife can be found. The Welwitchia plant ,Moon landscape and Dune 7 are but a few to mention.
