Morgan Bay has and always will be a family seaside holiday resort. In 1946, Ivan Warren-Smith brought a boarding house and converted it into the hotel. It has remained in the family ever since – the present owners are Richard Warren-Smith, Ivan’s grandson and his wife Jackie. Morgan Bay Hotel is in the untamed heart of the Wild Coast. Just an hour’s drive from East London along the Wild Coast in South Africa, is a special place which somehow allows those who go there to exchange the cares of the world for the more important things in life.
The coastal village of Morgan Bay lies nestled between majestic cliffs and a mile-long stretch of unspoilt beach. It is flanked by a stunning lagoon which carves open a sandy mouth to the raw beauty of the Indian Ocean. This is South Africa’s magnificent Wild Coast at its best In Morgan Bay, life is able to stand still whilst the hustle and bustle of day-to-day city life passes one by. Where everyone is always on holiday: removed from the present somehow enables one to reconnect with one’s past. Moreover, many a wise man has said, ‘If you know where you’re at and where you’ve come from, it helps to tell you where you’re going’. Time spent in Morgan Bay epitomizes everything that a good holiday should entail: – a good amount of rest, good company, good food, good times etc. It is a place to get lost and find oneself, and a place to be oneself again.

How to find us – N2 from East London towards Mthatha for + 40 kms then turn right to R349 to Morgan Bay/ Haga Haga / Kei Mouth for + 35 kms. Follow signs to Morgan Bay. It is a good, tarred road all the way.
