The ranch is a veritable treasure trove of African wildlife and boasts a variety of some 25 game species that freely roam its 12 000ha expanse of bushveld. Amongst these is one of the country’s largest herds of sable antelope, the precious white rhinoceros, roan antelope, as well as big herds of plains game. Renowned for its beautiful dams, Otjiwa is also home to rich bird life, amongst which the majestic African fish eagle.
Here is truly a place where tranquillity and adventure meet as the Otjiwa experience offers romantic sundowners, walking trails, game drives, bird-watching, a vulture hotel and, upon special request, rhino tracking.
For visitors who wish to explore the surrounds, Otjiwa’s central location provides its guests with the perfect base from which day trips can be undertaken to the famous Etosha National Park, the Waterberg Plateau nature conservancy, a cheetah conservation sanctuary, dinosaur tracks (also known as ‘spoor’) and, of course, the Namibian capital, Windhoek.

a) Mountain Lodge
Otjiwa Safari Lodge captures Namibia’s natural beauty with fascinating scenery and the charm of rustic luxury.
Otjiwa Safari Lodge offers five modern 2 bed chalets, reflecting indigenous African style with amazing panoramic views. All rooms are privately situated with a beautiful view, and have en-suite bathroom, mini-bar and air-conditioning.Personal care and excellent home-style cuisine will make you feel instantly at home when breakfast and dinner is served in our dining room. A cosy lounge and bar, next to our romantic swimming pool, overlooking the savannah bush veldt & Omboroko Mountains will add to a wonderful time of relaxation and indulgence.

The Nest is a fully equipped modern house, stylishly decorated, situated privately in the bush-area. An enlighten waterhole make sure you won’t miss the thirsty rhino through the night. This 4 bedroom self-catering unit provide sleeping facility for up to 16 people, with an open plan kitchen. Ideal to accommodate a group of friends or a family. A Cosy swimming pool with a braai area, surrounded by big trees give the refreshing relaxation you need after a long warm African day.
c) Eagle’s Rest
Eagles rest are 7 fully equipped self-catering units that vary from 4 to 6 bedroom houses. Each house is beautifully decorated in warm African style. The sleeper-decorated open plan kitchen provide everything needed to cook up a dish, even a outside open fireplace will help to make you feel at home. From your bedroom you walk out on an open private veranda, overlooking true bush veldt beauty & gorgeous sunsets.
d) Campsite
Otjiwa campsite is situated underneath big acacia trees next to a beautiful riverbed, where the setting of the sun creates a perfect atmosphere for true relaxation & spending time with your loved ones. For real African camping adventure there will be no electricity available. There are 3 big campsites – ideal for bigger groups or families – covered with clean river sand, own fire place & washing area. A well planned ablution area with separate bathrooms for men & women are also available. There are 7 smaller more private campsites, each with its own water & fire place as well as a smaller ablution area. All the campsites can be reach by a normal vehicle.
Weddings:
Amidst the backdrop of beautiful gardens, Otjiwa sets the stage for a truly romantic wedding. We offer a choice of two outdoor venues for the wedding ceremony, as well as a large hall with fully-equipped kitchen for the reception. Outdoor Adventures:
Spar @ Otjiwa MTB classic
Otjiwa is home to the annual Spar @ Otjiwa MTB classic. This mountain bike event is sanctioned by the Namibian Cycling Association, which provides competition dates and time-keeping equipment.
This cycling race serves as one of the qualifying events for the nomination and selection of the Namibian national mountain biking team. Points obtained by cyclists on the day are added to the annual total enrolled in the national MTB cycling series.
The event consists of three categories: a 70km Elite category, a 35km B-category, as well as a fun run. Three water points en route, as well as a water point at the finishing point, are provided.
SSFT (Süd Stern Freunde Treffen)
The Southern Star-gazer Friends is a non-profit organisation that holds its annual event at Otjiwa during the winter season. This two-night event requires advance booking and the tariff includes accommodation and meals. Telescopes are available upon request.

• Game drives are available to booked guests @ N$ 150.00 per person. The two-hour game drive includes one drink per person.
• Game drive to the vulture hotel and education facility is available to booked guests @ N$ 200.00 per person.

• Saturday 09h00 & Sunday 15h00 @ N$ 200.00/drive/person
• Rhino tracking on foot can be enjoyed by booked guests @ N$ 350.00 per person. Persons must book one day in advance and one free drink per person is included.
