General Manager Michael Nel reflects on a successful season and looks forward to a fun-filled Winter.

Dear Friends,

It’s that time of the year in Cape Town, when we slow down a little to catch our breath after what proved to be an incredible summer season. Cape Town winter has not really kicked in other than two ferocious storms in the last few weeks, but overall April and May has seen some beautiful sunshine and outdoor living opportunities.

We have been fortunate to welcome a number of international travel agencies and operators for our annual trade show ‘marathon’. In Cape Town this started with IGLTA in April, followed by the impressive Virtuoso Symposium and the always memorable We Are Africa, followed by Indaba in Durban. What a wonderful opportunity to showcase our beautiful city and hotel to these very influential travel advisors from all over the world. The weather played its part and we were able to present the very best our city and country have to offer.

The favourable exchange rate meant that every single travel agent left South Africa with the understanding that we offer the best value that money can buy, for some of the most unique experiences in the world. No wonder Cape Town was recently voted the ‘Best City in the World’ in the 2016 Telegraph Travel Awards in the UK.

With our international guest arrivals slowing down, our focus now turns to giving our locals the opportunity to come and experience The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, thanks to a variety of great value winter packages – see our website for further details.
