Don’t Worry, Be Happy with the Londolozi Family

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Despite uncertainty around the world, South Africa remains a friendly and peaceful nation, and with this good news, many past Londolozi friends chose again to travel this year to the southern tip of Africa on their annual safari pilgrimage. Also, to our peaceful country, we were very happy to welcome many new friends who visited us for the first time and who were rewarded with many grand wild sightings. Central to these were the unparalleled encounters with the Londolozi leopards and superb viewing of the ever-changing fortunes of the numerous territorial males and lion prides roaming across the Londolozi landscapes. This African theatre was well supported by regular sightings of large and small breeding herds of elephant and numerous family groupings of rhino who are being held in ‘’safe haven” at Londolozi.

Our Camp Managers are also happy this year as each camp received Shan and Yvonne’s magic décor touch and Chef Anna’s guiding hand in creating a fresh new look to our camps and food offerings.

The health conscious guests will be pleased to know that we have a new yoga deck. We also have a gym and cycle studio coming soon in 2016 as well as a renewed and updated Cubs Den for young safari goers.

More happy news for guests is the opportunity, during the daily Village Walk, to gather at the Ubuntu Hut for various discussions and presentations which contextualise the positive “ripple effect contribution” that guests make to advancing the objectives of the Londolozi Conservation and Restoration model.

Good Work Foundation (GWF) certainly had many reasons, during 2015, to be happy. They sent two grannies from Philippolis to attend the Barefoot College in India to be trained as solar engineers who will return to South Africa to begin installing solar lighting and heating in many homes in the area. And as GWF’s model for a Digital Campus of the future is refined, happiness was given to 350 young adults who gained skills to join the job market. Moreover, 4000 students attended the GWF Open Learning Digital Academies. This exponential tsunami of learning promises access to world class digital learning to thousands more rural children.
And so to all our friends around the world, the Londolozi family would like to wish you a happy festive season with one Christmas wish which is….

“Don’t worry, be happy!”
