Welcome to the December e-newsletter for 2015! The final newsletter of 2015 already?
December is our busiest month! There’s so much happening at this time of year, it sometimes feels like the hotel never sleeps. End-of-year functions dominate our daily events, and the Snooty Fox and Sunset Bar keep us all busy each evening. That’s not even taking the Training College into consideration: this time of year there are exams to write, practical exams to take, heaps of marking, and a graduation ceremony to plan. December: wonderfully festive, but ridiculously busy. Just the way we like it.
Our Christmas Day carvery is fully booked, but if you missed out on it, then we do still have places for the Christmas Eve carvery. The tables left for Christmas Eve are on the Deck; you can read more about it below.
Finally, our Snooty Fox restaurant will be open on New Year’s Eve for dinner as usual. Booking is strongly advised. Why not see the New Year in at Fern Hill, and try out our new menu at the same time?

Christmas Day – Fully booked

Please note that we are fully booked for Christmas Day. We do have a waiting list at present, and tables will be released to the top of that list in the event that we have a cancellation or non-payment. Bookings for Christmas Day require a 100% payment upfront with no refunds in the event of a cancellation. Finally, a big thank you to all of our guests who have booked and paid for Christmas Day! We’re looking forward to hosting you!
Christmas Eve Carvery – Deck still available

Christmas Day is fully booked at Fern Hill, and Christmas Eve is rapidly approaching the same. We do, however, still have space on our Deck for the evening. The cost for the Christmas Eve carvery is R190 per person and R125 for children ages 5-11. To book your table, please contact Thandeka or Ningi on 033 330 5071.

New Snooty Fox menu!


We have revamped our à la carte menu once again! We’ve changed the format a little bit, and have merged the current various menus into one. Don’t worry though, many of the favourite dishes remain (the lamb shank, and our curries cannot be removed!) but a number of new and exciting options now bolster these Fern Hill Classics. We’ve also introduced an entire Vegan and Vegetarian section to the menu. The new menu is available already! We’re looking forward to your feedback. ☺
Pensioners’ Specials!

All pensioners will receive a 10% discount off their total bill every lunchtime on Tuesday. What’s more, there is no service charge for pensioner tables of less than five people. Pensioners can also benefit from our highly reduced Sunday Carvery pensioners’ price of R150 per person.
Now get more at the Friday Night Curry Evenings! – NEW MENU!

Every Friday night we offer a special curry menu to all diners in our Snooty Fox restaurant. The special menu has just been given an update, with numerous new curries being added for you to try! From now on, all diners will receive a free glass of red or white wine with every curry ordered. This is a new addition to the Friday Night Curry Evenings, and we hope you enjoy the added value!
