“HIS HEART BELONGS IN AFRICA” – THE DR LIVINGSTONE EXPEDITION, ZAMBIA
19 March 2013 marks the 200th birthday of the famous Scottish Explorer David Livingstone. What better place to honour the life and achievements of this great humanitarian and explorer than in the country that intrigued him so much; Zambia. During this 7-day Historical and Gastronomical Experience, you will follow Dr Livingstone’s expedition through Zambia, guided by the highly acclaimed historian, story teller and David Livingstone expert Russell Gammon, whilst Scottish award-winning celebrity chef Garry Watson tantalises your taste buds in the evenings. Accommodated in style and luxury at Baines’ River Camp and Royal Chundu River Lodges, this promises to be an expedition of a lifetime, including a day-visit to the memorial site in Kasanka where Sussi and Chuma buried Dr Livingstone’s heart, an African Safari, visits to the Victoria Falls, a professional whisky tasting, high tea at the iconic Victoria Falls hotel in neighbouring Zimbabwe, a Scottish cooking demo, an authentic mokoro journey and more!
