Main Lodge at Jock is just 12 rooms, scattered through the bush and overlooking the dry riverbeds – with long salas for ultimate relaxation after your adventurous game drive. You know our ‘strap line’ is to CONSERVE A VANISHING WAY OF LIFE – so saving our planet is very important to us, and Jock takes their responsibility very seriously!
Here are just some of the things we do:
• We recylce tin, glass and plastic
• We have a worm farm where we can pop our organic kitchen waste
• All our wood id brought from a local contractor – outside the conservation area, and only invasive species are used
• Grey water is treated through an eco-friendly reed bed system
• Solar heating is used to provide hot water to our guests bedrooms
• We use eco-friendly amentities in our rooms
• We use eco-friendly detergents for washing and cleaning
• We capture rain for washing our vehicles
• We drive responsibly through our concession, never driving on endangered or recently burnt areas
• We love taking guests for walks through our concession, and walking is managed by our experienced guides
