The Lemala Cubs activity programs for kids in camp:
We are so excited to announce that starting 01st July 2015, we create great adventures for kids in camp through our Lemala Cubs program and our dedicated guides for kids. Families travelling to Lemala camps will be able to take advantage of not only our reduced children rates when sharing with adults in the same tent of 40% off rack BUT to know that there is plenty to keep the kids occupied whilst in our camps. Kids (12 and under) on arrival will be given a complimentary special Lemala Cubs rucksack filled with pencils and colouring equipment, a water bottle, a Lemala activity book filled with puzzles and educational information on the wildlife and surrounding flora and fauna and wildlife, magic dust to create permanent casts of footprints from around the camps and lots more. Each child aged 4 – 12 yrs can join in the Lemala Cubs activities for free. Kids will learn how to roast marshmallows over fires, throw (blunt) spears and use bows and arrows like the Maasai, learn tracking techniques, identify wildlife, make casts of footprints, walk with the Maasai, learn about Tanzania and so much more. We cater for early family dinners and have designed healthy kids meals to refuel at the end of each adventure filled day. Returning to their tent the kids will find a specially chosen Africa story to lull them to sleep with dreams of the following fun filled day. So don’t delay – Follow the family pride and contact your favourite travel agent for more information on this great addition to activities on offer at Lemala Camps and Lodges.
Refurbishment planned for Lemala Ngorongoro, Lemala Ewanjan and Lemala Mara/Ndutu
We are delighted to confirm the planned refurbishments will be commencing shortly. The workshop carpenters are busy with new furniture, the tailoring department is spinning its magic with new cushion covers, bed throws and much more, the ironsmiths are busy with the iron works and the purchasing department is busy shopping for all the nic nacks. Not sure who’s more excited at this point. The marketing department to showcase the new look or the purchasing department spending the money, but whoever it is doesn’t matter as the picture boards are looking amazing and we just can’t wait to share all with you. The refurb will commence at Lemala Ewanjan followed by Ngorongoro and Mara/Ndutu. We expect Lemala Ewanjan to be completed by end of August and the other camps will follow thereon.

Guide Training performed by Paul Kirui
As the start of the new season approaches our Lemala guides have been hard at work training alongside Kenya’s renowned Gold star Guide Mr Paul Kirui current chairman of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association and nominated by Conde Nast world traveller as the 4th best guide in Africa. We are honoured and proud that Paul has taken the time to come to Tanzania and share his knowledge and expertise with our team and they in turn look forward to sharing it with you and your guests in our Lemala camps.
New Menus
As part of our on going commitment to excellence across all Lemala camps we are delighted to be having Fiona Morely spend time in our kitchens in June crafting our menus and training our chefs. Fiona has over 25 yrs in the hospitality and catering industry and has worked with 5 star hotels and restaurants, and run safari camps throughout Africa. She certainly understands what it’s like to supply and deliver high quality meals in remote locations. When asked to name a few occasions that stand out her face light up as she remembered the Royal Garden Party at the Palace of Holyrood House, a certain royal wedding and then a papal visit! However serving Archbishop Desmond Tutu with Hot chocolate brings the biggest smile and twinkle to her eye. Fiona is by all definitions a foodie and we can’t wait for her to get stuck into our kitchens – and then to sample the delights that she and the camp chefs will be serving.
