Marlin Lodge Benguerua Island Mozambique – News Update

Marlin Lodge partly burnt by fire

On December 12, 2012 at 1pm local time, a wildfire originating in the bush surrounding Marlin Lodge spread to the property causing damage to some of the lodge’s suites as well as the lodge’s main building. All guests were safely and promptly evacuated and relocated to other properties on the island.

Our immediate focus is on clients who are on the island at the moment and assisting them with alternative arrangements. For those clients with forward bookings at Marlin Lodge, our team are committed to assisting them with alternative accommodation. For agents with forward bookings at Marlin Lodge, we would appreciate your assistance in helping us to book your clients in alternative accommodation options. Please advise your clients that their travel insurance will be applicable during this time until the lodge’s assessors have assessed the damage after which we will endeavour to notify you immediately

More information will be forthcoming as we work around the clock to ensure that we do our utmost to make alternative arrangements for our travellers. The lodge will be closed for bookings from now until further notice. We will be accessing the damage within the next few days and will advise on a date for the re-opening of the lodge in early 2013.

We thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to you or your clients.
