Nambiti Hills
It’s been another super month in The Nambiti Reserve even though the weather still can’t really make up its mind. We had some very hot days but we’ve also had a fair amount of rain which cooled down the temperatures considerably. The bush seems to be getting thicker every day and, if possible, even greener. The ground is completely saturated and our little streams and waterfalls are constantly flowing.
At the time of writing the last newsletter the reserve was busy doing a game count. We have been assured that most species in the reserve are at maximum capacity and are doing very well. Getting the balance between predators and herbivores (grazers and browsers) is of utmost importance and the Nambiti management is happy with our current situation.
We were incredibly lucky to see the matriarch with her new little wobbly baby the day it was born. It’s always difficult to get a good view of the newborn as the mother keeps it under her permanently and a few other members of the herd crowd around to shield it from all sides. We’re approaching baby season now and we also hope to see the Impala and Wildebeest babies drop in the next few weeks.
We have recently partnered with the Teremok Lodge and Spa in Umhlanga to bring you a unique Beach and Bush Honeymoon as well as an Experience package.
It’s a great time to be at Nambiti and we hope to see you and your family here this month.
