“Ride Kenya”
Short Breaks On Horseback
3-Night or 4-Night Mobile Horse Safaris in the Chyulu Hills
The Chyulu Hills, in the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem, offer some of the most stunning scenery in Africa: rolling volcanic hills, Acacia forests, and grassy plains all under the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. On a Ride Kenya Safari expect to see a variety of game such as giraffe, elephant, cheetah, jackal, eland, oryx, impala, warthog and gazelle.
Coarse volcanic soils that are firm yet forgiving under hoof make ideal terrain for long trots and fast canters, supplemented with some cross-country style jumping over fallen trees and other obstacles.
Not the usual obstacles jumped at tea-time
All horse safaris offer the chance of:
• Bush breakfasts, picnic lunches, and sun-downers
• Day and night game drives, bush walks, wildlife photography and birding
• Exclusive access to over 1 million acres of pristine wilderness
Mobile camping is in spacious Selous-style tents (13ft x 15ft) with wrought-iron beds and en suite hot showers. Ride Kenya serves three-course gourmet meals with full open bar. The mess tent has a lounge area, library and siesta cushions, perfect for relaxing in between rides. A full team of staff is on hand to manage the meals, housekeeping and horses for the ultimate enjoyment of guests.
• Ideal for visitors to Kenya who wish to combine safaris in the famous National Parks with a lesser-known but stunning destination in southern Kenya.
• Personal attention of professionally-trained guides and horse safari managers
• The horses from Ride Kenya stables are a unique, well-schooled team from southern Africa, individually hand-picked for their temperament, conformation and suitability. They are a pleasure to ride!
• Ride Kenya is reminiscent of the quintessential safaris of old – outside the confines of a vehicle and with close-up wildlife experiences.
• Operating in private community lands which provides for greater flexibility of safari activities.
• Plenty of opportunity for non-riding pastimes or simply relaxing in camp.
• Ride Kenya stables are just 2km from the luxurious ol Donyo Lodge (Travel + Leisure’s “World Best Hotels” in 2011 and 2012)
• Suitable for families (minimum age 12 years), groups and FIT guests. Bookings for single riders accepted.
