SafariWise Newsletter April 2012

We asked some of our team, “Which tour grabs your fancy?”

Neil: To me, our 3 Countries Tour from Windhoek to Livingstone is the ultimate safari! Namibia, Botswana and Zambia all in one. With such diverse habitats you are bound to see a great variety of wildlife.

Berdene: The gorillas have always been on my bucket list, but my list keeps getting longer and longer! I envy Neil and Robbie who are touring in Madagascar as you read this. I’m sure they are going to have a lot of fun. I really enjoyed putting the Cape Peninsula and Greater Kruger tour together. Cape Town is close to my heart and just a beautiful city with a lot to see and experience. There is no better way to end this tour than Sabi Sand Reserve. One usually cannot predict wildlife, but here you are guaranteed leopard sightings in the wild!

Robbie: My favourite tours are the Namibia Lodging Tour and the Chobe & Victoria Falls Tour. Namibia is my home country – its runs through my blood! The word Namibia means “land of wide open spaces”, which is a perfect description. We are one of the least densely populated countries in the world, with a pristine and unspoiled environment! Namibia is a photographers paradise, with beautiful landscapes and a large variety of fauna and flora. Plus Namibia is really traveler friendly and clean! It should be on everyone’s “to see” list! If you are an animal lover then the Chobe / Victoria Falls trip will not disappoint you. Botswana is very well known for its abundance of wildlife and boasts the largest population of elephants in the world. One of the most amazing things I have ever seen is Victoria Falls! When you see it you know exactly why it is one of the wonders of the world!

Sabina: Any tour where you can see lots and lots of animals! Botswana, Madagascar, Kenya & Tanzania would be the most obvious choices. The Great Migration must be an incredible sight, while Madagascar has animals found nowhere else on earth. I’ll always have a soft spot for Namibia though, especially the Caprivi Strip….
Malakia: Mozambique is the BEST!  (Let us know when we should tailor a tour for you to Mozambique …..)

NEW!!! NEW!!! NEW!!!

After doing countless game drives in Etosha over a period of almost 20 years, Neil MacLeod and Nikos Petrou felt there was no adequate guide book on Etosha and decided to do something about it! The result was the brand new “The Experts Guide to Finding the Animals in Etosha”. The guide is full of concise facts, maps and detailed descriptions of all 64 waterholes in the park, as well as almost 300 stunning photographs. Look for it in book stores from end April!
