WELCOME TO OUR APRIL UPDATE

The beautiful golden days of Autumn have arrived at Shamwari, the time of year that our African sunsets & sunrises are most spectacular!  We look forward to welcoming local and international guests to the ultimate African safari in the months ahead  For those of you that have been before, or are wanting to come….read on to relive your memories or get excited about your planned visit!

THANK YOU!
On behalf of Shamwari I would like to sincerely thank all of our guests who have contributed to the Forever Wild Rhino Protection Initiative, managed by our conservation partner, the Wilderness Foundation.  Over the last three years we have jointly managed to raise a staggering R13 million for the protection of our rhino species in South Africa.  The fight to protect and save our rhino species is ongoing, and we as a conservation based organization are fully committed to the cause, and we are really appreciative of your contribution. Our head ranger, Andrew, got up close & personal with a curious serval recently… An interesting fact about servals is that they can sometimes hunt their prey without seeing it until the final pounce!  See the video here.

OUR BLOG
Our blog provides insight of stories at Shamwari from updates on our animals to the many experiences we offer.  Two of our latest blog’s are about a Spotted Eagle Owl that is being nursed back to health at our Animal Rehabilitation Centre and about a satisfied guest’s experience at Eagles Crag Lodge. If you’re interest is piqued, read about them below…

At Shamwari, we care deeply about all the animals that reside within the reserve.  Read all about how our rangers and vets rescued a Spotted Eagle Owl chick and nursed him back to health until he made a full recovery.
See the little fighter’s recovery here.

Those readers that have visited us before will relate to this guest’s story of her Shamwari experience.  Follow the link to relive the memories of your breath-taking adventure on the vast plains of the Eastern Cape, and be inspired to visit us again

For those readers that have never been, let this guest story inspire you to book your stay at Shamwari Game Reserve and prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime!
