The Werf restaurant on Boschendal Farm

SOUTH AFRICA: Step back and breathe it all in. I just had to share the special spring lunch that we enjoyed at The Werf restaurant on BOSCHENDAL FARM yesterday.
Boschendal is the vintage that never gets old. 330 years of stories to discover, unique once-off culinary experiences, relaxation in the outdoors, contemporary accommodation – I invite you to immerse yourself in the goodness of farm life.

NEED TO KNOW:
• NEW TROUT COTTAGE – This new 2 bedroom cottage, overlooking the trout dam and completely private will be available from mid-December. Perfect for families looking to escape and reconnect. Rates to be confirmed.
• ACCOMMODATION – all 22 cottages spaciously set out on the farm are looking stunning with the gardens established and the final touches in place – just in time for a great season ahead. Have a look!
• BEST VALUE IN THE VALLEY- rates from R 1,650 (US$ 122) per cottage per night! And don’t forget the long shoulder season from 1st September to 15th December 2015.
• BREAKFAST BASKETS – Feel like sleeping in? No problem! Breakfast baskets filled with fresh farm produce can be pre-ordered and delivered to your doorstep.

THINGS TO DO:
• ACTIVITIES – mountain biking, walking trails, trail running, horse riding, swimming in the dams, fly fishing, history tours, wine tasting, rose garden walks, splish splash kids area – need we go on?
• EAT- Chef Christiaan Campbell’s visionary and sustainable approach at The Werf restaurant has all the foodies blogging, while the Farm Shop & Deli is the perfect stop for a hearty breakfast, light lunch or casual early dinner. Le Pique Nique remains a firm favourite for all guests visiting the farm. A butchery stocking the farm’s very own free-range, pasture reared Angus beef will be opening soon.
