June 2015 We’re half-way through the year already, and winter has already popped up to say “hi” to the Midlands.
Last month, on 01 May, we celebrated our 25th anniversary with so many of you. We’d like to give a huge thank you to all who came through for this evening; we know that you all had a blast! We’d also like to thank all of you for the kind words and messages you left in the Midlands Photobooth photo book. Fern Hill Hotel would not be where it is today without the support of our loyal customers. Thank you!

Father’s Day lunchtime carvery – Sunday, 21 June
It was Mum’s turn in May, so now you get to spoil your Dad in June. Come and celebrate with us at Fern Hill Hotel and spend the afternoon at a relaxing Sunday carvery. Booking is strongly advised as this day fills up rather quickly. The cost is R185 per person, R150 for pensioners, and R100 for children aged 6-11. We’re at the Windmills Bridal Fair – Sunday, 28 June
Fern Hill Hotel is one of the most popular wedding venues in the Natal Midlands, and we’ll be joining the Windmills Bridal Fair so you can come and see exactly why we’re popular. On Sunday 28 June, our Functions and marketing teams will be at Windmills, just outside Nottingham Road for the annual Bridal Fair. The event grows in popularity and size every year, and this year’s event looks like it’ll be no different. If you’re in the beginning stages of planning your wedding, then come and chat to us at the Windmills Bridal Fair!
Conferencing and Functions 25th Anniversary specials
For the next few months we’re offering reduced package rates and specials for weddings and conferences booked at Fern Hill Hotel. Our Functions office has cut venue hire charges by 50% for all weddings. Conferencing packages have also been dramatically reduced depending on your requirements, so contact Lulu or Andile on 033 330 5071 to get your tailor-made discounts!
Thursday is Locals’ Night!
Every Thursday is Locals’ Night in the Sunset Bar at Fern Hill Hotel. You can expect R18 draught beers, R60 beer jugs, R15 glasses of wine and R20 cocktails. The chefs have a number of pub specials lined up on ribs, pizzas, snack baskets (back by popular demand!), and an amazing R70 for a 300g rump steak. What else is happening each Thursday? Live entertainment with the talented Tyrone!
Pensioners’ Specials!
All pensioners will receive a 10% discount off their total bill every lunchtime on Tuesday. What’s more, there is no service charge for pensioner tables of less than five people. Pensioners can also benefit from our highly reduced Sunday Carvery pensioners’ price of R135 per person.
Thursday Pizza special
Due to popular demand, we’ve revived our famous Thursday Pizza Special. Just R25 for a large Margherita pizza! There’s also an array of extra toppings to choose from that have been split into different pricing categories, so it’s easy to tailor-make a pizza to stretch your Rands a little further. What’s more, Windhoek beers are just R17 and a 500ml carafe of house wine is just R38! That means two people could each have a pizza and a glass of wine for less than R90! Every Friday night we offer a special curry menu to all diners in our Snooty Fox restaurant. The special menu has just been given an update, with numerous new curries being added for you to try! From now on, all diners will receive a free glass of red or white wine with every curry ordered. This is a new addition to the Friday Night Curry Evenings, and we hope you enjoy the added value!
