Walking the dogs in the park yesterday, I noticed a group riding horses. Being of the opinion that one should avoid getting into or onto anything that you cannot turn off with a key, I tend to forget about the wonderful horseback safaris available in Africa.
Horseback is a wonderful way to see the bush. One has a sense of complete freedom, not hampered by vehicles nor surrounded by other tourists. In addition, horses have far greater vision than humans and will detect things way before we might. Thus a horse and rider can make a great team in the bush.
