Anabels’s B & B

Anabel’s B & B is a Bed & Breakfast Establishment in La Lucia, a five minute drive away from Umhlanga Rocks and the Gateway Mall. We are a 5-minute walk to the La Lucia Mall, where, at the Engen Garage there is a “Quick Shop” which is a 24 hour Steers and Woolworths food shop as well, very convenient. We are a home-style establishment where you can relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

We have four en-suite double units, three with the choice of Twin or King-size beds, one with a double bed. All have as sleeper couch, air-conditioning and kitchenettes. All units have TV with M-Net

Delicious Breakfasts (either Super Special South African or Excellent Continental) and are usually served on the patios, one at the back or in the thatched Lapa in the front. Both of these areas have a built-in braai. Self-catering is also an option.

All units are equipped with cooking facilities, i.e. Double-door fridge/freezer, microwave, electric frying pan and hot plate etc.

As we have very hot summers, we have air-conditioners (remote controlled) in all rooms.

For the business traveller we have fax facilities as well as an Internet Hotspot, with wireless connection available everywhere in the house including the back patio. All rooms have a desk or table and chair where one can work.

Our colourful garden filled with flowers and birds plus a large sparkling pool. The electric gate offers secure parking, with one parking per unit.

The La Lucia Mall, Library, Virgin Active Health Club and Tennis Club are a 5 minute walk away, so is the Glenashley Fishing Beach. The Umhlanga Rocks Bathing Beach and Umhlanga Hospital are a 5 minute drive. We are close to numerous restaurants and there is a Hairdresser and a Restaurant opposite.

We have access to a registered field guide who is able to take you for day trips to the Natal Game Parks. Short stays of 2 to 3 days can also be organised.

How to find us:

From the North Coast :

From Umdloti, take the M4 Freeway that passes Umhlanga Rocks. TAKE the next turnoff which is the La Lucia Mall Turnoff. It loops around and goes UNDER the M4 via subway. You come out at a T-junction. Turn LEFT at the T junction into Armstrong Avenue. Proceed straight along Armstrong Ave, .go straight past the lower circle, go straight at the traffic light and turn LEFT at the next circle into Braemar Ave – road sign is diagonally opposite on the right side of the circle. Miss the first road to the RIGHT which is WILDEN PLACE. Carry on straight along Braemar Ave and take the SECOND road to the right which is DAVALLEN AVE. – there is also a large CHRISTCHURCH sign on this corner. Turn RIGHT into Davallen Ave, we are no 35, opposite the La Lucia Junior Primary School.

From the city:

Take the N3 into the City. When you enter the Victoria Embankment, you will have the Bay on your Right and the City on your left. At the Eight Traffic Light, turn Left into Stanger Street (Far Northern Beaches) – this is the M4 Freeway. Continue on the M4Pass the Hypemarket-by-the-Sea Pass the Durban North turn-off, the Virginia Airport turn-off and the Glenashley/Aubrey drive turn-offThe LA LUCIA MALL turn-off is about half a kilometre after the Glenashley turn-off.Stay in the left lane and continue left at the glide-off to the La Lucia Mall, and thereafter follow the map.

From the Ring Road:

Go through the Marianhill Toll Plaza just after Assaguy on the N3. Pass the Westville Pavilion. Look out for the N2 sign, take N2 NORTH. Carry on, cross the Umgeni river and continue for about 8 kms until you see the UMHLANGA turnoff, which becomes M41. Then take M41 down towards the sea (beautiful view!) The road which curves around and takes you into M4 towards the city. Stay in the LEFT lane because after about 25 metres you must take the La Lucia Mall turnoff. The road curves around and goes under the Freeway, and you will come to a T-junction – turn LEFT into Armstrong Avenue, go straight past the circle, straight through the traffic light and then LEFT at the second circle into Braemar Ave – the road name sign is diagonally opposite the circle, and difficult to see. We are in DAVALLEN AVE, which is the SECOND RIGHT off Braemar Ave (the first right is Wilden Place which you miss) We are opposite the La Lucia Junior Primary School, no 35, on your right.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation less than a week before arrival – deposit or prepayment is forfeited.
Between 7 and 14 days … 75% is forfeited
Between 14 and 21 days…50% is forfeited.
