Southern Right Lodge
Southern Right Lodge is situated at the foot of the Raed Na Gael mountain range, overlooking Hermanus, the 27-hole Hermanus Golf Course and offers breath-taking views across Walker Bay. You can enjoy Fernkloof Nature Reserve, its unique Fynbos and from June to December our gentle giants, the Southern Right Whales. We are rated AA Superior by AA Travel.
Southern Right Lodge is offering four generous en-suite rooms with queen-size beds and separate entrances. Families with children can enquire for additional cots. Our rooms are very comfortable and equipped with TV, refrigerator, hair-dryer, and tea and coffee-making facility. Our large hearty breakfast buffet, clear blue swimming pool situated in a landscaped garden and our terrace are inviting you to enjoy your stay with us. An off-street Parking – Area is to your use.
We are within a 3 minutes drive from the Hermanus Golf Club. Golf players find this suitably attractive to practice their skills. Voelklip Beach has lovely lawns and is a great spot for surfing and boogie boarding and Grotto Beach with its stretched white sandy shore is ideal for Beach Volley-Ball or other beach events. Diving, Shark Observation, Jet Ski Rental, and Boat and Surfboard Charter complete your fun-filled holiday. For the romantic at heart, take your favourite champagne and discover a sunset to dream off on the African Queen sunset cruise or discover Walker Bay and Whale Coast air born on board of African Wings.

Whale Room
This is a cosy room with a queen-size bed and with an en-suite bathroom. The room is mountain facing and has a lovely sea view from the terrace. 2 sleeps (no baby cot)
Africa Room
This is a large room with a queen-size bed & sleeper couch, with an en-suite bathroom and with a stunning sea view from the terrace. 4 sleeps (3 + 1 baby cot)
Ocean Room
This is a large room with a queen-size bed, with a full en-suite bathroom and with a lovely sea view from the terrace. 3 sleeps (2 + 1 baby cot)
Driving Directions to Southern Right Lodge, 24 Raed Na Gael Street, Hermanus
N2 – Cape Town – Somerset West – Caledon – Knysna – Plettenberg
Between Somerset West and Caledon you will meet with the small town of Botriver close to the Houw Hoek Pass. Follow the exit towards R 43 – Hermanus. Continue straight onto R43 for 28 km to reach Hermanus. At the first roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Magnolia Avenue for 110 m. Turn left to stay on Magnolia Avenue for 850 m. Continue onto Jose Burman Drive for 600 m. Turn left onto Fernkloof Drive for 500 m. Take the 1st left onto Selkirk Street for 600 m. Take the 2nd left onto Raed Na Gael Street for 300 m. Southern Right Lodge will be on the right-hand side, No. 24.
Child Policy

1 Adult + 1 Child Rule (0 -3 years) – We are charging based on our single rates plus a fixed rate* per night.
Additional Accommodation of Children (0 – 3 years) – We are charging based on a fixed rate* per night.
Children (4 years and older) are counted and quoted as adults. – We are charging based on our per night, per person sharing rate. * currently R 100.00
Terms & Conditions – Booking & Payment Procedure – Cancellation Policy
Southern Right Lodge is entitled to debit a deposit of 25% of the total accommodation charge against your credit card account upfront to your date of arrival. Some booking portals are asking for a higher deposit (i.e. 30%). Relating to that procedure the relevant sections of their terms & and conditions apply. You can book online via the Nightsbridge online booking form. Your booking will be valid by submitting your credit card details online via the Nightsbridge online booking form (will establish a valid authority to debit) and by receiving the booking confirmation. The validity of your booking will be in question if the deposit can’t be charged against your credit card account. In that case we are going to contact you again.
The full amount of the accommodation charge for the entire period of the stay is due on date of arrival. With the exception of the deposit your card account will not be debited until your announced date of arrival, but please note that a non-refundable amount of min. 25% of the accommodation charge for the period above remains debited or will be debited to your card account unless you cancel your reservation at least 29 days ahead of your arrival date. Your deposit will be refunded within 3 working days if you cancel your booking in time. Delays may occur due to holiday seasons or unforeseen circumstances. – Please note – that some booking portals are setting up their own refund policy. The relevant sections of their terms & conditions apply alternatively or in addition.
By submitting your credit card details via the Nightsbridge online booking form you are authorizing Peter Findeisen, registered Merchant of Capitec Bank Limited Card Services & Member of Southern Dream Lodge c.c. t/a Southern Right Lodge, to debit your credit card account by following the above mentioned conditions.
Bookings/Reservations are subject to availability. Southern Right Lodge reserves the right to cancel bookings/reservations due to unforeseen circumstances and is entitled to make alternative arrangements on behalf of the customer instead. Act of God doesn’t create any claims or rights against Southern Right Lodge.
