Homtini Guest Farm

Choose between a forest cottage with its balcony nestling amongst the indigenous tree tops or a luxury safari tent tucked sympathetically into the Cape Fynbos and immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility that only nature can bring.

Spend your days exploring the farm’s own forest reserve, getting to know the animals, lazing by the pool or taking a short trip to the myriad attractions and outdoor activities that make Knysna such a bustling and popular South African holiday destination.

In the evening why not book a sauna or simply sit on your deck watching the African sun disappear over the nearby Outeniqua Mountains before cooking a meal of having a ‘Braai’ all with delicious locally sourced produce.

Both the cottages and lodge tents are very well equipped, cosy and yet reasonably priced. Homtini, is a 90 ha Organic Farm with over 60 ha of indigenous forest and is a haven for all of those seeking to spend time in nature, sleep under the stars and generally get away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of day-to-day life.

Cottages have a lounge with an open plan kitchen, 2 bedrooms (queen-size bed and 2/3 single beds), bathroom with shower, TV and open fireplace. Each secluded cottage is surrounded by a wooden deck with its own private Braai (BBQ) that offers breathtaking of the Garden Route’s Outeniqua Mountains.

The two Family Lodge Tents are located on a large secluded site, with large campfire and seating and come with en-suite bathrooms and a wooden veranda, all set on the edge of the forest with beautiful mountain vistas and possibly the outdoor shower with the best view in the Western Cape.

The couple’s lodge tents are ideal for the romantically inclined as they are tucked away all on their own on the border of the forest and the cape fynbos. With their own en-suite bathrooms, kitchenette and weber Braais on the deck you might just not want to leave the place!

HOW TO FIND US
• Coming from Cape Town on the N2 you go past the Buffels Bay turn-off and take the next left turn to Rheenendal, (about 8 km before Knysna).
• After 14 km along the Rheenendal road, you will reach a sign that says ‘Homtini Pass’.
•At that point the tarred road becomes gravel and the entrance to the farm is on the left hand side.
•Coming from the Knysna side, drive around the lagoon, cross the ‘white bridge’ and then start to climb up the N2 heading to George.
•Just before the top of the hill you will see the sign to Rheenendal, take this and follow the instructions above.
