How to find us:

The road to Hogsback is tarred all the way from Alice and the quickest, easiest route from the coast is to take the N2 from East London to King William’s Town and then the recently upgraded R63 to Alice, just before which is the Hogsback turn-off. The tarred road from Alice to Hogsback is 40km.

From Port Elizabeth, you can follow the N2 to Grahamstown, just after Grahamstown turn on to the very quiet and scenic R67 to Fort Beaufort, and then take the 23km road east to Alice.

From upcountry, there are two main routes. From Queenstown, you can take the N6 to Stutterheim and then turn off on to the scenic R352 through Keiskammahoek to Hogsback. However, be advised it is a dirt road from Stutterheim and poorly signposted so it’s best to do the route in a 4×2 or 4×4 and with GPS. Alternatively, you can take the R67 from Queenstown through Whittlesea and Seymour to Fort Beaufort and then on to Alice.

From Cradock, the N10 takes you to a turn-off on to the R63 at the Eastpoort railway siding 19 km before Cookhouse. From the turn-off, it is only 21km to Bedford and then on to Alice via Adelaide and Fort Beaufort.
