The Knysna Manor guesthouse is housed in a charming Victorian mansion and overlooks the stunning Knysna Lagoon and is also within walking distance of shopping centers, medical facilities, banks, exclusive shops, local craft markets, restaurants and the Knysna Waterfront.
The old world charm of the Historical Knysna Manor House B&B house can be seen as soon as one sets eyes on the 100-year-old guesthouse. From the original yellowwood floors, to the character of each individual room, the Victorian theme is carried throughout the enchanting Knysna B&B.
This Knysna accommodation consists of thirteen en-suite rooms that have all been lovingly furnished and equipped with modern amenities. There are three different levels; the top floor – consisting of four en-suite rooms, the main floor – consisting of the lounge, dining room, reception and another four en-suite rooms, and the lower level, that has another five en-suite rooms.
Secure off-road parking is situated at the back of Knysna Manor House where guests have direct access from the parking area to the guesthouse. The informal sun lounge of Knysna Manor House guest house is adjacent to the swimming pool, which is available for the relaxation of our guests. A great place to cool off at the end of a long day touring Knysna and the Garden Route.
Our newly extended deck offers guests stunning views of the Knysna Lagoon and Knysna Heads. It is the ideal place to enjoy your breakfast or sip sundowners whilst watching the South African sun slowly slip behind the Knysna Lagoon.

Breakfast is served daily in either the dining room or on our recently extended deck, which has become very popular amongst our guests, who enjoy a lazy breakfast as the Knysna Lagoon shimmers in the background. Breakfast consists of a choice of fresh fruit and yoghurt, followed by your own selection of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and mushrooms. A choice of fresh breads, cold meats, cheese, fruit juice and tea or coffee finishes off your meal.
Knysna and the Garden Route cater for every individual taste and have a choice of many world-class restaurants for you to choose from. Why not try tempting Oysters and seafood, Greek or Italian cuisine or indulge yourself with a famous South Africa steak? Come and experience the vast magnitude of sports and cultural events hosted in Knysna itself and the surrounding Garden Route area. Our centrally located Knysna accommodation is a perfect venue during any of the Knysna festivals as we are within walking distance to all amenities. Our Bed and Breakfast has a safe area for sports enthusiasts to keep their equipment. Knysna hosts various festivals throughout the year, from the main event The Knysna Oyster Festival, to the Pink Lourie Mardis Gras.
Knysna Oyster Festival
Our Knysna accommodation / B&B is centrally located, and is within walking distance to all Oyster Festival activities. We thoroughly enjoyed having a home full of guests during the 2010 Oyster Festival, and look forward to 2012.
This annual festival has two main sport events, the Knysna Forest Half Marathon and Knysna Cycle Tour, give participants the unique opportunity to run and cycle through the mysterious indigenous forests surrounding the town. The guest house / B&B has a secure area for all sports equipment.
The annual Oyster Festival is held over the first two weekends in July.
Oyster Festival raises more than R1 million for charity
The Knysna Oyster Festival has raised more than R1 million for local charities and non-profit organisations in Knysna.
According to Mike Mills, chairman of the Knysna Tourism Board, the festival has grown into an incredible asset for the area and that it would not have been possible without the help of
sponsors. Marathon and Half Marathon, which raised R271 000.
Pink Loerie Mardi Gras

The Pink Loerie Mardi Gras was an idea born in Knysna, to promote Knysna as a destination. The first Pink Loerie Mardi Gras, in May 2001, was a huge success. Since them the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras has grown to be ever more popular with huge support from the gay and lesbian community.This is annual event held over the 1st weekend of May.

Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours
Our Knysna guest house is about an hours drive from the Tsitsikamma forest, making it the ideal base to tour the picturesque Garden Route. The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour is the first of its kind in Africa.
The tour takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma Forest with most of the platforms built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods up to 700 years old. Standing within the crown of these giants and looking down at the lush forest floor thirty metres below is an unforgettable experience. Hold your breath as you slide from tree to tree through the forest, stopping at each new platform while your guides tell you a little more about the surrounding ecology. If you are fortunate you will spot a pair of Knysna Loeries or the brilliant red plumage of the elusive Narina Trogon. Whatever happens, we’re quite sure you’ll want to do it all over again!
Bungee Jumping
Experience every emotion whilst plunging 216 m off the worlds highest bungee jump. This centrally located Knysna B&B is the perfect base for thrill seekers. Knysna Manor House accommodation is situated on the Garden Route, Western Cape. This is the ultimate thrill! This IS the highest commercially operated Bungy Jump in the world. We secure you in a full body harness and proceed to walk along a specially designed catwalk (216m long), which is suspended beneath the road surface, which will then lead you to the top of the arch – 216 meters above the Bloukrans River. Here you will be given final instructions by highly experienced staff, a countdown and off you go! Getting There By Aeroplane:
George Airport is located at the heart of the Western Cape’s Garden Route; a fashionable holiday destination and home to many of South Africa’s most affluent residents. George is 72 km from our bed and breakfast. Your route will take you through the Wilderness, a sight to behold. Known as the ‘ten minute airport’, Port Elizabeth Airport is situated within five minutes drive from the central business district and the beach front and no more than ten minutes from other areas of importance in the city. Port Elizabeth is 265 km from Knysna.
