Laughing Waters Guest House
Laughing Waters Guest House is situated on a citrus farm on the banks of the Sabie River, about 6km from Hazyview. Set in a beautifully lush sub-tropical garden, surrounded by tall indigenous trees and populated with an abundance of birds, Laughing Waters is a quiet haven, a home away from home.
The location of the guest house close to the river ensures slightly cooler temperatures than elsewhere in the valley, and this comfortable micro climate makes Laughing Waters especially welcoming in the hot summer months.
The riverine forest and indigenous bush surrounding the farm, the proximity to the Kruger National Park, and the occasional visiting hippo make Laughing Waters feel slightly “wild”, but still very civilised!
An enormous covered veranda overlooks the garden. Breakfast is served here, and guests are welcome to relax here during the day.
The comfortable, country style lounge inside the house offers DStv, and a generous selection of books and magazines. In winter the open fire enhances the warm ambience on cool evenings.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
The beautiful gardens are the owner’s pride and joy; they are lush and colourful, and shaded by tall trees. The large swimming pool is an ideal place to cool off after a day exploring the scenic or safari aspects of the area, and the surrounding trees provide shade and a respite from the sun.
The bedrooms are accessed from a shady courtyard garden. Each is individually decorated, and very spacious. Large windows overlook the gardens, and allow the sound of birdsong into the rooms.
Each room has an en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, ceiling fan, cupboards and comfortable chairs.
