Southern Right Whales! News Update from African Travel Solutions Ltd
Southern Right Whales! The first sighting of Southern Right Whales in the area
We are excited to share the good news. Yesterday our Dyer Island Cruises Whale Trip saw six Southern Right Whales – a sign that the whale season is here already.
Southern right whales are migratory whales which travel between the Antarctic and the southern coastlines of South America, Africa (South Africa) and Australia. They spend approximately half of the year (roughly December until May/June) in the Antarctic region where feeding is their main objective. These whales are most commonly found just along the coastlines in South Africa between July and December. More interesting facts are available on our Dyer Island Conservations Trust
