At SMH Car Hire we pride ourselves in offering outstanding service along with remarkable luxury cars for hire. The vehicles in our fleet are a year old and newer, ensuring that every vehicle that goes out on hire is well maintained and in pristine condition.

In our fleet section of the website you will find we not only specialise in Land Rover vehicles such as the Discovery 4 SE and Freelander 2 but also offer smaller luxury cars for hire, namely: BMW 3 series, Jaguar XF, Toyota Prado VX and Ford Fiesta.

SMH Car Hire, part of the SMH Group which consists of Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW, Volvo and Subaru dealerships, was formed in February 2002 and has become known as “Hire A Land Rover” Due to the primary focus on Land Rover vehicles.

SMH Car Hire began business in our Group owned Land Rover dealership, located in Bedfordview. To date SMH Car Hire (Hire A Land Rover) has expanded tremendously and now conducts business from its very own premises in Edenvale, Johannesburg (JHB). Due to our phenomenal success a branch was opened in the Mother City (Airport Industria, Cape Town) in April 2008.

Currently our JHB branch holds a fleet of 80 vehicles with a friendly staff compliment of 30 and our Cape Town Branch has a fleet of 25 vehicles and a staff compliment of 7.

As part of our professional service we are one of the few companies that allow our hired vehicles to travel across the border to neighbouring countries (Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland).
