Johann and Petra de Kock run dk villas as a newly formed family business and corporate isn’t part of the furniture. Here things are done in the old-fashioned way – we love to engage with our guests (as much or as little as they like), and we ensure there are many personal touches. Johann is a Capetonian who has spent 28 years in the Aviation Industry, based at the Cape Town International Airport. Petra, originally from Durban, is a 1st generation South African born to German parents and has been living in Hout Bay since 1997. Johann and Petra love to travel and explore their province and country, and are passionate about everything they do. We have been in the Travel and Tourism Industry for over 25years, and have a wealth of knowledge of our City, our surrounds and what to do and see! We have called Hout Bay our home since 1999. This quirky village has everything one needs and yet is so close to the City that you feel like you’re part of Cape Town, yet still, maintain that village atmosphere. So it was a natural move, when we started our new business, to offer accommodation in Hout Bay. The first spacious apartment in the dk villas portfolio is tastefully furnished, with magnificent views, and is situated in the heart of Hout Bay village – the perfect setting for an idyllic home away from home. And then we decided to widen our scope. So another trendy apartment, also in the Hout Bay village was added. This modern apartment caters for all, and is a home away from home for business or holiday makers. Johann bought Petra a beach cottage as a surprise gift for their 9th wedding anniversary a few years back. This beach cottage is situated on the West Coast (now known as the Weskus) in an idyllic little fishing village of Dwarskersbos. We fell in love with the village, the area and all it has to offer. Petra immediately tried her hand at renovation and redecorating, and the beautiful beach apartment even featured in the local Weskus ESCAPE magazine! And as they say – the rest is history! This tastefully and lovingly furnished beach cottage offers anyone a place to just simply rest the soul. Being based in Hout Bay, we still love exploring everything our country has to offer. The Western Cape is so diverse and within 1 hour, you are in a completely different environment. Finding that perfect balance, our dk villas collection offers something for everyone.
