Goibib Mountain Lodge is a tranquil hideaway in the heart of the Great Karas Mountains in Southern Namibia, and an extremely easy drive from either north or south along
the Windhoek to Cape Town main road. Simply take the B1 and drive until you see the sign between Grunau and Keetmanshoop!
Rather than being pursued by the Big Five or chased by stampeding herds of animals, bring your camera and capture all things great & small — macro-photography brings
the little things to light or explore the night life with fluorescent light and discover the nocturnal world around us.
Goibib Mountain Lodge offers its guests a dream come true holiday with the time to peacefully view many species of antelope and other wildlife that inhabit the veld. Instead you will

pristine nature at its finest. An added bonus is that the region is malaria-free.
Accommodation & Camp; Facilities
The accommodation at Goibib Mountain Lodge comprises eight spacious en-suite rooms, each furnished to the highest standards and fitted with the comforts of home, to enable
Guests to relax and recuperate.
Each room has en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, television with local and satellite channels, mini-bar,built-in safe for valuables, coffee/tea station and wireless internet connection.
Rooms are serviced daily.Optional services include a laundry service, shoe-polishing and baby-sitting.
We have recently completed our campsite and are more than happy to set up your camp (tent, stretcher & bedding) for your comfort. Caravans are more than welcome and our
proximity to the road makes us the ideal location.
Complimentary on-site car-parking is available for all guests.
The Lodge facilities include a swimming pool, bar and the Lodge library which includes reference books on African birds and wildlife, and many fiction titles for guests to enjoy at their leisure.
Self-Drive Expeditions – Delicious fresh picnic baskets, with all kinds of goodies, may be ordered by guests to enjoy on their drive in or around the Lodge or further afield.
Dining at Goibib
Buffet-style meals may be enjoyed in the dining room or on the terrace in the fresh Namibian air.
Breakfast consists of a cold buffet with cereals and a traditional cooked breakfast.
For dinner we prepare a Namibian-inspired feast which includes either game, venison, poultry or fish served with vegetables or salad.
On warm evenings, guests may opt instead to enjoy a braai (bbq) in the boma.
Goibib Mountain Lodge gladly caters for vegetarian or alternative dietary requirements on request.
Our Namibian-inspired meals are renowned for satisfying hungry bellies. Enjoy!
Activities & Attractions
The wide range of activities available at the Lodge includes deluxe nature drives using our comfortable, air-conditioned 4×4 vehicles, in the company of our experienced
and knowledgeable driver/guides.
Sunrise Nature Drive: Witness a spectacular Namibian sunrise and the landscape coming to life again
A 1-2 hour game-viewing adventure followed by a scrumptious breakfast in the great outdoors.
Sundowner Nature Drive: This 2-3 hour drive allows for unhurried wildlife watching and concludeswith the magnificent Namibian sunset. As night falls, we may catch a glimpse
of emerging nocturnal animal life on the way back to the Lodge for dinner.
Guests may take a self-guided hike to explore the scenic beauty of the Lodge at their own pace to seek out local flora and fauna. The more energetic may like to take out a
mountain-bike to explore at a lightly faster pace. Birding enthusiasts will be enthralled by the huge variety of bird species in the area.
We have a useful selection of bird identification books in our library. The un-polluted skies make stargazing a very attractive proposition, using one of our telescopes.
Within a 2 hour drive there are several significant places of interest, including Fish River Canyon, Africa’s largest canyon by far, and the Giants’ Playground which is a remarkable
landscape resembling huge toy bricks stacked on one another. Quiver Tree Forest is best seen in June and July for its yellow flowers.
Brukaros Volcanic Crater is spectacular despite being extinct. Ai-Ais Hot Springs are what they say but are closed November to February due to extreme temperatures.
