Sample itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in George
Transfer from George Airport to your hotel. Relax, or book a practice session at the range.
Day 2: Oubaai
Ernie Els’s signature course near Herolds Bay is a links-style layout where fynbos lines the fairways, with views of both the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean. Unwind at the 19th hole afterwards.
Day 3: Oudtshoorn to Knysna
Cross into the Little Karoo for an ostrich show farm, the limestone chambers of the Cango Caves and the cheetah conservation work at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Continue to Knysna for the night.
Day 4: Goose Valley, Plettenberg Bay
Play Goose Valley, a Gary Player design just outside Plettenberg Bay, beside the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve, with lagoon, ocean and mountain views. Afterwards, take a marine boat trip from Plett to look for dolphins, seals and, from about June to November, southern right and humpback whales.
Day 5: Pezula, Knysna
Perched on the Eastern Head above Knysna, Pezula is one of the most scenic courses in the world, a strategic layout through fynbos that rewards careful club selection. Finish with a sunset cruise on the Knysna lagoon.
Day 6: Simola and departure
Your last round is Jack Nicklaus’s Simola, high on the hills above the lagoon. It’s designed to challenge good players from the back tees and still be enjoyable for higher handicappers. Then transfer to George Airport.
