Sample itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town
Meet your driver at Cape Town International Airport for a short city tour, including Table Mountain if the weather allows, then check in to your boutique hotel in the Constantia Valley. Relax and enjoy dinner at leisure.
Day 2: Clovelly Country Club
Your first round is at Clovelly, in the Fish Hoek valley between the mountains and the sea. It’s a shorter course, but tight, tree-lined fairways and the famous Cape wind make it a real test of accuracy.
Day 3: Steenberg Golf Club
Round two is at Steenberg, a Peter Matkovich design set on one of the Cape’s oldest wine farms, with a backdrop of vineyards, forests and mountains. Finish with a tasting at a Constantia estate.
Day 4: Royal Cape Golf Club
Founded in 1885, Royal Cape is the oldest golf club in South Africa and a regular host of the South African Open. Its flat, tree-lined parkland layout looks gentle, but narrow fairways and well-bunkered greens punish wayward shots, especially when the south-easter blows.
Day 5: Westlake Golf Club and departure
Finish at Westlake, a friendly, tree-lined parkland course beneath the Silvermine mountains, known for its interesting doglegs and walkable layout. Afterwards, transfer to the airport.

Tips for golfing in Cape Town
- Best time: spring and autumn (September to November, March to May) offer the most settled weather. Summer can be windy.
- The halfway house: South African clubs have a traditional stop after nine holes for a snack, so allow time for it.
- Caddies and carts: most clubs offer both. Book in advance at the most popular courses.
- Dress code: collared shirts and tailored shorts or trousers are standard.
